Official PLOmaha Strategy/Hand History Thread
I have just read Hwangs book and I am planning on spending quite a large portion of the rest of this year getting learning as much as I can about PLO. I am going to start playing micro stakes pretty much, multitabling and playing heads up and really grinding to increase my understanding of plo. I played live plo almost exclusively about 4-5 years ago so although I have a basic understanding of the game, my experience is still very limited.
I will chart every interesting hand and situation in here for discussion, and I would like for others who have considered learning omaha a little bit more to join in on the forum here.
So far (after 1k hands) I feel like I have learned quite a bit which is encouraging, but nothing I would cement as "strategy". I plan on playing 50k hands at each limit before I move up

PLO intrigues me, but I'm not ready to start playing it yet. I'm curious about the variance, from all I've read it seems the swings are far greater in both directions. Also, who exactly is playing PLO at low/mid stakes? I would assume most fish are playing NLHE. I realise PLO has surged in popularity at high stakes lately.
Have you watched any of the DC PLO videos? I watched Vanessa's PLO series, just to get a handle on the basics, and it seemed pretty good.

Swings in omaha are much higher because their are many more situations that the money goes in in coinflips.
Hwangs book is as good as any. Definately worth a read over. Like any other poker variant playing hands is probably your best bet to learn the game.

Well I will be joining you. Getting tired of prelfop pissing matches in NL 6 max, so starting to play a lot more Omaha.

I think I'll give it a go as well. Think I'll be stuck at the PL10 tables for some time though

Ok so I am done with NLHE for the time being and its full time PLO for me.
Have already put in a fair few Full ring hands this year at limits all the way up to 10-20(!), so have started at .5/1 6 max and am about to move up to 1/2 and even 2/4 when the games are good (as they usually are). Playing mostly on Full Tilt. Will start posting some hands.
